Purchasing and materials manager: This new position created from corporate growth, will own all aspects of procurement and inventory management. As the point person on this activity, you will be expected to envision and implement programs such as ship-to-stock, kan-ban, vendor controlled inventory levels and measuring vendor response and quality. You will be the point person for the company’s implementation and compliance to ISO 9000. You will work with the other team members to accomplish these goals and are a direct report to the Director of Operations. Candidates must have a proven track record with related projects. Graduate level degree (MBA preferred) as well as at least 5 years experience in the field of semiconductor processing or other high tech, electro-mechanical-optics operation (photovoltaics industry experience preferred).
Principle Responsibilities:
Electrical Engineering Technician: Electrical and electronic engineering technicians help design, develop, test, and manufacture electrical and electronic equipment such as CPV control system, field communication equipment, production equipment, and computer measurement and controls. The EET works in product evaluation and testing, using measuring and diagnostic devices to adjust, test, and repair equipment. - Implement purchasing programs that improve vendor responsiveness and reduce costs while measuring and controlling inventory turns to agreed upon targets
- Implement and document production control system(s)
- The point person for implementation of quality systems including ISO 9000
- Implementation of ship to stock
- Work with corporate accounting staff to integrate procurement, and inventory systems
- Establish A,B,C inventory structures and provide solutions to re-order and accuracy
- Coordinate international and multi-functional teams to implement programs
- Build international supply chain team as company grows

Qualified Candidates should possess:
Embedded Software Engineer: The Embedded Software Engineer specifies, designs, codes, integrates, tests and debugs complex software programs for our electronics platforms to support product development initiatives, and provides technical and process improvement feedback into the business. Also provides technical and work planning guidance to more junior developers or student interns. - Collaborate with electrical engineers and other personnel to identify, define, and solve developmental problems. Provide technical assistance and resolution when electrical or engineering problems are encountered when building prototypes or pilot production
- Assemble electrical and electronic systems and prototypes according to engineering data and knowledge of electrical principles, using hand tools and measuring instruments. Modify electrical prototypes, parts, assemblies, and systems to correct functional deviations.
- Set up and operate test equipment to evaluate performance of developmental parts, assemblies, or systems under simulated operating conditions, record results, write follow up reports.
- Evaluate engineering proposals, shop drawings and design comments for sound electrical engineering practice and conformance with established safety and design criteria, and make recommendations. Draw or modify diagrams and write engineering specifications to clarify design details and functional criteria of experimental electronics systems or subsystems.
- Plan, schedule and monitor work and report to engineering management. Conduct inspections for quality control and assurance programs, reporting findings and recommendations.
Qualified Candidates should possess:
- 5-7 years experience as a EET.
- 2-year associate degree at a technical institute, or Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology.
- Proficient with office and matlab or equivalent program. Fluency in English and proficiency in writing engineering reports.
Principle Responsibilities:
Qualified Candidates must be fluent in English, work independently, and should possess:
Electrical Engineering Intern: BS candidate, preferably entering Senior year. The duties for this technical person include creating PC based applications for control and instrumentation of solar energy installations. Strong hardware and software skills required, as well as experience with RS-232 interfacing and PC applications. Candidate must have good bench skills and hands-on field aptitude.- Architects optimized software for efficiency and maintainability within internal and external quality and coding standards and based agreed to specifications and on other engineer’s designs
- Debugs software on targeted hardware using debuggers and/or emulators
- Writes software for PC applications to support field deployment of the StarGen products as well as internal manufacturing processes as required
- Keeping abreast of market development and contributing new ideas into the business
Qualified Candidates must be fluent in English, work independently, and should possess:
- A Degree in Engineering/Computer science discipline
- Skilled in embedded C software development with 2+ years related experience plus good skill level in another high level language
- Completed a project exemplifying structured design methodology
- Possess extensive experience with at least two types of microprocessors
- Skilled in structured programming, defect tracking and change control
- Good knowledge and experience of CAN, CAN standards and commercially available software such as CANalyzer, ISO 11898, J2284, CANbedded
Mechanical or Industrial Engineering Intern: BS candidate, preferably entering Senior year. The duties for this technical person include performing mechanical metrology and building prototypes of solar energy concentrator systems. CAD skills (preferably SolidWorks) and experience with optics and lasers would be a plus. Candidate must have good bench skills and hands-on field aptitude.
Production Lab Assembler: Job duties include chemical processing and other assembly operations associated with producing solar cells. Skill set should include familiarity with manual and automated processing equipment, PC skills, inspection, chemical handling, and good manual dexterity with tweezers to handle delicate parts. Work environment is clean room/laboratory. Close attention to detail is required, ensuring quality workmanship. Communication skills (oral, listening & written) are required for following written instructions and procedures and recording information on production records and equipment logs. Ability to work with minimal supervision and willingness to learn new equipment and tasks is essential. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, work using hands with good manual dexterity and good eyesight to handle small parts. Must be able to communicate (reading, writing, speaking) using the English language and work Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm. Must be a U.S. Citizen or hold valid U.S. Permanent Resident Alien (“Green Card”) status. High School Diploma or equivalent required. Previous related experience with chemical processing, microscope inspection, and chemical handling / clean room procedures preferred.
Director, Cell Research and Development: This new position will be responsible for the optimization of our PhotoVolt™ silicon solar cell with respect to design, material selection, and production processes. This person will work with the other team members to improve performance and assuring quality, while reducing production cost. Candidates must have a proven track record with related projects. Six Sigma experience would be a plus. Graduate level degree (MS or PhD) in Engineering, Physics, or Material Science required, as well as at least 5 years experience in the field of semiconductor processing (photovoltaics industry experience preferred).
