An infinite supply of free fuel is available for both heating and electricity, courtesy of our sun, a fusion reactor perfected long ago, conveniently situated 93 million miles from our planet. So far, only a tiny fraction of the world's energy needs are being supplied by solar energy because the cost of the hardware used to collect and distribute it is too high. Even if the fuel is free, and even if the process produces little or no carbon dioxide, the market is not willing to pay a significant premium over conventional forms of energy for solar energy. That is why, in all of 2007, the worldwide deployment of PV arrays amounted to little more than two weeks of new coal fired power plants coming on line in China (3,000 MW).At GreenField, our goal is to drive solar energy into mainstream adoption through lower costs, without subsidies. We have developed a radically different approach to solar energy, using high intensity concentration, using a unique combination of cell technology and innovative system design. Our technology was developed to be highly scalable, allowing us to increase production rapidly, at low cost. Unlike conventional PV arrays and even other concentrator PV systems, our products are able to provide electric power and heat at the same time in the same place using the same equipment, providing the unique advantage of two valuable energy forms simultaneously.
